Title: darkcam: FrostMage
Post by: Guest on May 31, 2018, 09:31:12 PM
Character's Name: darkcam
BTag: darkcam17#1904
Character's Level: 110
Class: Mage
Usual Spec: Frost
Normal Play Time:
15-20 hours weekly
Age: 19
Previous Guild: Volition
Reason you left previous guild:
Raid team fell apart. I was also busy with school at the time so didn't want to go through the process of joining a new guild afterwards.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm currently a college student at the University of Maryland. I've played PC games for the past six years of my life and first played WoW during Warlords but only played for a month or two. I came back to WoW for Legion and raided throughout Nighthold and Tomb before taking another break. I'm pretty relaxed and love to chill in discord and do content such as M+ or just talk about random things.

Are you friends with anyone in Nightstalkers? If so, who and how do you know them?
Yes I'm friends with rusty, he was the tank for my previous guild and we ran a lot of mythic dungeons together as well.

Why do you want to become a member of Nightstalkers?
I want to continue playing WoW and raid with a competitive guild. I feel like Nightstalkers will provide me with this opportunity and would love to meet new people to play the game with.

Any alts we can contact you on? Darkcamm, DarkcamDH

Our raid times are Tues, Thurs, and Sun from 7:00 - 11:00 server. Are you able to make ALL of our raid times, every week?
Yes I should be able to make them the vast majority of the time.

Do you forsee any issues in the near future with attendance? Vacation? Moving? Etc? No

Please take a moment to outline your rotation/priority. Be thorough and specific: I will just outline my usual single target rotation.

I start the fight with an ebonbolt pre-pull, afterwards I cast frozen orb and pop all my cooldowns. Subsequently I use all procs of ice lances and then go into the normal frostbolt filler until I get more procs. On proc I use them as soon as possible in order to ensure I never waste a proc of something, the minor damage increase from holding onto procs is not worth potentially munching one so I'm always careful to watch my auras properly. On brain freeze procs I cast a frostbolt, then flurry (use the proc), then ice lance to make sure I use the most of the shatter effect that comes from flurry. Ebonbolt and frozen orb should be used on cooldown unless my icy veins is about to be off cooldown. The main goals are to never waste procs of spells, use abilities off cooldown, and make sure to always be casting.

Use ice barrier on cooldown to help healers and use other defensives situationally.

What's the one misconception about your class that upsets you the most?
Frost mage gets a fair bit of flack because the "rotation" is fairly easy, although this is true there is a lot of thinking that's involved with playing a frost mage in a proper raiding environment. As a ranged class it's extremely important to position properly throughout any fight in order to minimize the amount of movement required in turn increasing your DPS. There are also little things like using blink in order to get two ice lances within one flurry window if you have high enough haste. This also allows for an extension of icy veins due to the thermal void talent. Other small details include deciding when to use

Summary of your raid experience (go as far back as you can):
HFC: 9/9 Heroic
Nighthold: 8/10 Mythic
ToS: 5/9 Mythic then guild fell apart.

Are you willing to respecc or sit out of a raid if a different class is needed? Yes I would be willing to do either. I also have multiple alts that I would be more than willing to play.

Are you willing to download a few raid specific addons? Yes

Are you able to be in Discord for raids (Mic and the ability to talk is required)? Yes

Please list your computer's specs. CPU speed, video card, RAM, Wireless/Wired?, Cable/DSL?, and average in-game latency.
CPU: 6 core 4.3 Ghz
GPU: GTX 1080Ti
Internet: Wired fairly fast / reliable
Latency: 25ms

Is your computer in good working order? Any current issues with it? Please make this answer detailed and specific.
Yes my computer is newly built and I have had no problems with it.

Are you easily offended by adult language and conversation? No

Is there anything else you think we should know?
I'm a fairly dedicated player, I love progression and am constantly looking at ways to improve so I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to join the guilt. Please reach out to me if you have any questions that I've left unanswered or would like extra information.
